- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 whole eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup gold rum/Bacardi
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water (for glaze)
- 1 stick butter
For the cake: In the initial step grease the pan finely. In a mixer beat eggs, oil, water, and rum until mixed finely with each other. Add the pudding mix and cake mix then, beat them for 3 to 5 minutes until you get a smooth texture in your batter. Pour the mixture in a pan and bake it at 50 degrees for around 40 to 45 minutes. Ensure that the cake should get a light golden brown color by the end.
Baking tip: The glaze used in the cake needs to be prepared, roughly 10 minutes before the cake is ready. Also, make sure you have plenty of paper towels with you for the base as there are chances glaze will run down through the sides of the cake. For the glaze: Now melt butter in another pan and add sugar and water together and bring it to boil. Once it starts boiling switch off the flame and add rum to it and set aside. Once the cake seems ready, take it out, to test the evenness of the cake prepared firstly gently prick, and then slowly pour half of the glaze over the cake.
After the cake has soaked up the glaze portion, turn the cake over to a pan removing pan than repeat the step and slowly pour the other half of glaze over cake.
